How to look like Inosuke

Inosuke from Demon Slayer

Inosuke from Demon Slayer

Introduction

Inosuke is one of the main protagonists from the anime/manga Demon Slayer. In the world of Demon Slayer humans and demons fight each other for survival. Some humans, called demon slayers, have been trained to kill demons and protect humanity. Inosuke is one of these demon slayers.

Fans have fallen in love with Inosuke’s quirky personality. While the other main characters, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Nezuko tend to be more reserved, Inosuke is bold, brash, and confident. Inosuke often acts purely on gut instinct. Although this causes endless headaches for the other characters, we fans find it endearing.

While Inosuke’s personality is endearing his physique is inspiring. Whether it is his well-defined abs and arms, or his amazing flexibility, everything about Insouke’s physique demonstrates intense training. In this blog post we are going to analyze Inosuke’s physique and discuss how you can build a body just like Inosuke’s.

Inosuke’s Training

Inosuke’s training relies on calisthenics techniques. Calisthenics tends to include lots of bodyweight and cardiovascular exercise. So while we don’t get to see a lot of Inosuke’s training, we can assume it is calisthenics due to his athletic physique. Also supporting this conclusion is the assumption that the world of Demon Slayer is without specialized exercise equipment such as bench-press racks and treadmills. The most ‘advanced’ training we have seen in the show is the lifting of rocks using ropes as seen in the above picture.

Lastly, it makes sense that calisthenics and cardio is the basis of Inosuke’s training. The muscular and cardiovascular endurance resulting from these methods of training are essential for the highly active profession of demonslaying.

Analyzing Inosuke’s Physique

Inosuke’s Physique Analyzed

Inosuke’s Physique Analyzed

Inosuke has an athletic physique. The central feature of his physique are his well defined and large abdominal muscles. This lean and defined look is typical of calisthenic and bodyweight training.

Inosuke has well developed arms, shoulders, and obliques. This is expected as each of these muscle groups are essential for sword wielding. As far as muscle balance goes, Inosuke has an advantage due to his dual sword wielding style. This ensures that no one side of his torso is more muscular or well developed than the other.

Common to worlds that don’t have specialized exercise equipment, Inosuke has a chest that is disproportionately developed as compared to the rest of his physique. Like early bodybuilders, his chest has been built through mostly bodyweight and indirect exercise. One drawback of bodyweight exercises is that they often can’t provide a amount of mechanical load conducive to building a lot of muscle. Consequently, the chest muscles of calisthenics athletes tend to be weak points.

Inosuke’s back and legs are not often seen. Consequently, there is a lack of photos to analyze of these muscle groups. We can assume that he has at least some back development because his lats are visible from the front. Additionally, although his mask covers his traps, we can assume they are well developed based on the physical needs of wielding swords.

His legs are always covered by large pants. Because of this we have no idea how muscular his legs are. Once again, though, we can assume that they are at least as muscular as would be expected of a calisthenics athlete.

Taking this analysis into consideration, I will now suggest some workouts that will build your body into one that looks like Inosuke’s.
